• 12 exciting things to do in UAE this weekend

      February 24, 2018

How to make the most of your Thursday, Friday and Saturday. Khaleej Times recommends...

    Play time

From the Tony Award winning author of the musical Once comes a dark comedy right in time for the St. Patrick's Day festivities. Enda Walsh's play New Electric Ballroom about a "hermetically" sealed Irish family concerns three shut-in sisters living in an isolated coastal town in the West of Ireland. The oldest two - Breda (Gwen Watson) and Clara (Aileen Kelly) - haven't left the house in decades and stick to the confines of their living room where they play a repetitious game while Ada (Mary Claire Ryan) gets out to work at the local cannery, but may be the most cocooned of all. Catch it at The Courtyard Playhouse from tonight and over the weekend at 8pm.

    Pop up and in

Wafi Mall is bringing you the ARTE Makers' Market this weekend, featuring a range of designer products made by UAE creatives. Art, jewellery, clothing, beauty products, delectable delights and more await at this pop-up, so make sure to check it out. You're always saying you need to spruce up the living room, right? Voila!

    Wadi Showka

This is a great beginner's hike. This five-hour trek on Friday will take you on a flat section through the wadi, and over the ridge for an amazing view of the Hajjar mountains. It will be an early start as temperatures tend to rise later in the day. Make sure to bring water & sufficient bites. Cost: Dhs250.

    Polish opera

The Polish National Opera is coming to Dubai Opera to deliver a powerful performance of Eugene Onegin, on Friday night. Eugene Onegin is an intense and passionate story of a sophisticated yet selfish young man who lives to regret his nonchalant rejection of a young woman's love. It's inspired by a novel by celebrated Russian writer Alexander Pushkin and well worth a see.

    We love Wakanda

Dubai is coming together to celebrate superheroes at Welcome To Wakanda: The Black Panther Party tonight at Tribeca Dubai at the JA Ocean View hotel in JBR!
