Abu Dhabi gets 6 new schools: Six new schools, which can accommodate more than 8,000 students, will open in Abu Dhabi in September. The Abu Dhabi General Services Company (Musanada) on Saturday said the new schools worth Dh671 million "is on track" and four of the schools will be opened in Al Ain, and the other two in Abu Dhabi City.
The Dh447.5 million schools in Al Ain include Al Yahar School and Al Shuwaiba School. Each of the two schools will be accommodating up to 1,250 male and female pupils in 50 classrooms and 240 KG pupils in 12 classrooms. Both schools will have various administrative buildings, a cafeteria, a dining hall, a multi-purpose hall, laboratories and music rooms.
The other two schools are Al Quwa School, with up to 1,000 places for male and female grade one pupils in 40 classrooms and 240 kindergarten pupils in 12 classrooms, and Al Fayda School, with 1,250 places for male and female grade one students in 50 classrooms and 240 kindergarten pupils in 12 classrooms.
The schools in Abu Dhabi are Al Dana School in Mohammed Bin Zayed City and Al Watan School in Shakhbout City. The Dh109 million Al Dana School will accommodate up to 1,500 C1 female and male students in 50 classrooms and 240 KG female and male students in 12 classrooms. It will also include administrative buildings, a cafeteria, a dining hall, a multi-purpose hall, labs and music rooms.
Abu Dhabi gets 6 new schools The Dh115 million Al Watan School, is designed to accommodate up to 1,250 students, with 240 in kindergarten. The school consist of 62 classrooms cater to various age groups, and will have several administrative buildings, eight scientific and technical labs, five rooms dedicated for educational programmes for those with special needs, eight labs for teachers, an equipped cafeteria, a library, a multipurpose hall including a theatre equipped with state-of-the-art display devices and IT systems, a prayer room, an a clinic.
Saleh Al Ali, Musanada's acting education director, said: "Construction of these schools took place in the context of the future schools programme, implementing best international practices, whether in terms of the design of classrooms, sports halls and multi-purpose halls, or in terms the appropriate and attractive educational environment, as well as state-of-the-art equipment and systems, all aligned to the needs of future generations, providing them with best educational settings."
Khaled Al Ansari, school services division manager at the Abu Dhabi Education Council, expressed his keenness to provide an appropriate educational environment for students through state-of-the-art equipment and tools in modern school buildings that further enhance and support the educational process in the emirate.
He added that the designs of new schools encourage students to come up with concepts of creativity and innovation. It also enhances their skills and talent through taking part in various activities in line with the modern curriculum that focuses on critical thinking and analysis.
