Dubai: Emirates airline is again providing up to 45 kilos of free baggage allowance on select destinations and this time,
The airline has confirmed that economy class passengers bound for some cities in Bangladesh, Philippines, Indonesia, China, Middle East and Africa can enjoy an additional 10 to 15 kilos of allowance for checked bags, provided they book by January 31, 2018.
The offer is valid for outbound travel from Dubai until June 10, 2018, and is in addition to the standard free allowance of 30 kilos.
The airline had announced a similar offer on 22 destinations last year but it ended on September 30 and applied to trips only until December 13. Some new destinations have also been added to the list in the latest promotion, but other cities, including those in Asia, have been bumped off.
Emirates said it has decided to revive the baggage bonus promo, as demand for more space on certain routes at this time of year is still high.
“Despite our baggage allowances being amongst the most generous in the industry, we are always looking for ways to enhance our product offering for our customers, particularly on certain routes and at times of the year when we know they will be packing more,” an Emirates spokesperson told Gulf News.
“By increasing the baggage allowance, we are alleviating customers’ packing stress and allowing them to pack more for themselves or take gifts for their family and friends.”
Travellers bound for Khartoum, Cebu, Clark, Colombo, Jakarta, Dhaka, Sylhet, Chittagong, Amman, Kabul, Mashhad
Flyers to Beijing, Guangzhou, Abidjan, Accra, Addis Ababa, Algiers, Cairo, Casablanca, Dar Es
Emirates also confirmed that loyal customers, or members of its Skywards rewards programme, can avail themselves of between 12 kilos and 20 kilos of extra baggage weight.
Silver Skywards flyers can get extra 12 kilos, while gold and platinum members are entitled to extra 16 kilos and 20 kilos, respectively.
However, the latest additional baggage offer is not applicable for travel from March 23 to 25 this year, except for Tehran.
