• President of World Bank Jim Yong Kim Resigns

    The president of the world bank Jim Yong Kim will decide to resign on February 1, after gaining three years after termination of his term in 2022, the multidimensional creditor said on Monday, Washington.

    Kim said in a statement, "It has been a great honor to serve as president of this remarkable institution, full of passionate individuals dedicated to the mission of ending extreme poverty in our lifetime."

    Kim took over leadership of the global lender in 2012 at 59, join an as-yet-unnamed fixed directing on investments in emerging countries.

    Kristalina Georgieva, the world bank’s chief executive officer will accept the role of provisional president when Kim proceeds and the bank did not provide further details.
