Sheikh Mohammed launches Global Happiness Coalition

His Highness Sheikh Mohammed bin Rashid Al Maktoum, Vice-President and Prime Minister of the UAE and Ruler of Dubai, has launched a 'Global Happiness Coalition'. Six countries have signed up for the coalition so far: UAE, Portugal, Costa Rica, Mexico, Kazakhstan and Slovenia.

Minister of State for Happiness Ohood bint Khalfan Al Roumi said the alliance will bring about positive changes to government services globally.

She said the first-of-its-kind initiative shows the UAE's commitment towards establishing international cooperation to bring about happiness and improve quality of life.

Achieving happiness is a major challenge governments around the world face and an international cooperation mechanism can help meet this, she said.
