You’d be forgiven to feel queasy at the thought of visiting an RTA centre when a task needs to be done. But now, don’t despair – as the Roads and Transport Authority (RTA) have been busy rolling out over 20 new generation self-service machines that will help motorists complete various tasks.

The new RTA self-service machines have a host of smart features, allowing drivers to make payments or complete tasks related to drivers and vehicle licensing, parking services and ‘To Whom It May Concern’ certificates. Other smart features in the new machines include:

Scanner to copy required documents Electronic signature feature A channel for capturing submitted documents needed for example, for printing a vehicle registration card ID card reader Fingerprint services

The machines have been installed at RTA’s Headquarters, and affiliated customer happiness centres – where motorists can now complete their transactions and payments in cash, through bank accounts or credit cards – without having to wait in line.

Providing the service in four languages – Arabic, English, Urdu and Malayalam – the machines are part of the RTA’s ongoing mission to establish Dubai as a smarter and happier city.

“A future plan is in place to deploy more self-service machines of this type, and increase such services in shopping centres and other areas in Dubai to satisfy the needs and aspirations of the public”, explained Ahmed Mahboub, Executive Director of Customers Service, Corporate Administrative Support Services Sector for the RTA.
